WHAT HAPPENED IN THE DANCE WORLD IS ALL REAL. —- When I was 5 years old, I was always motivated to read my mom’s fashion magazines, like almost every naughty kid, I always cut up pages randomly without my mom’s permission, and then glued everything from somewhere else. After decades, I found out it is called collage. My dance becomes a glue to put everything surrounding me on the same paper. I am passionate about collecting the “beauty” I have noticed in my daily life, and dance is functioning as my artistic method, which I call “gluing”. And I am also gluing visual art and technology together to create an expanded environment for my work. I am specifically interested in layering up different kinds of&nbsp; videography, not only in a two dimensional space, but also in the physical world.&nbsp; My choreography has led me down pathways of exploration, imagination, research, redefinition, and playfulness, like a children’s game. Gradually discovering and forming expressions of dance within the process of making, I have started to understand my body, my thoughts, and how I want to present the world around me. Our world of rapidly developing technology has made making superficial connections easier and faster. However, for me, what happened in the dance world is all real. B. MY BODY GLUES EVERTHING SURROUNDING ME. —- Tokie Wang is a Chinese choreographer, dancer and visual artist, currently based in Los Angeles. She received her Choreography MFA degree in California Institute of the Arts with a minor in Integrated Media. She has participated in Playdate residency @Blue13 Dance Company, IndyFringe, OBOC counter technique 2022 @Gibney, NYC, Summer Intesive @Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music &amp; Dance, London, Balanced Body Pilates teacher training @Bodyline, L.A.,First Light winter intensive @Corbie &amp; Rabbit Art center, China. &nbsp; Tokie Wang frequently works as a choreographer/dancer in commercial field with companies/brands in the US and China, such as LOOKwhat StudioTM, Flower Knows Cosmetics, Hong Kong NetEase Interactive Entertainment Limited, FAENZA, Calvin Klein, Xigua Video, VJU, Luset.
